Martin Marietta
Woodville, Ohio
US 20 Construction ODOT Project 167-07

Proposed Work per alternate MOT requested by Woodville:

Stage 1

  • Build pavement west of Dutch Rd. beginning early April to allow for temporary cross-over from current concrete pavement to current asphalt pavement.
  • Install portable barrier wall along Eastbound traffic
  • Place Westbound traffic onto new (2007) concrete pavement
  • No left turns will be permitted within Woodville at this time
  • Construct middle 12' of concrete pavement
  • Approximately 4 weeks to complete

Please note:

  • Barrier wall required due to drop off incurred close to Eastbound traffic
  • No barrier wall required along Westbound at this time due to offset of drop off.  Barrels satisfy drop off requirements

  • No left turns permitted due to construct ability issues and safety of motorists.

Stage 2

  • Traffic, both Eastbound and Westbound on North side of US 20 utilizing concrete pavement.
  • Both right and left turns permitted
  • Northern businesses maintained through temporary stone drives
  • Residents between George and Lime will be maintained through use of temporary access drives.  All others maintained through temporary stone drives as required.
  • SR 105 is closed for entire duration of Stage 2 (as per original plan)
  • Bank access of SR 105 by temporary stone drive
  • Approximately 3 months to complete
  • Intent is to complete Stage 2 MOT work by end of August as per request by school

Benefits:

  • Roadway work within Woodville completed 2008.  If alternate MOT not approved, Woodville work completed October 2009
  • Impact to School is minimal due to pavement work completed during summer months and completed before Fall session begins
  • Local businesses will benefit from the new 5 lane roadway within Woodville in 2008
  • If alternate plan not approved, current traffic configuration will last until Spring 2009, as work will continue West to complete North side of US 20 before proceeding to Southern US 20 work in 2009
  • Snow removal 2008 will become easier as drums currently in place will be removed when work in Woodville is completed
