Proposed Work per
alternate MOT requested by Woodville:
Stage 1
- Build pavement west of Dutch Rd. beginning early April
to allow for temporary cross-over from current concrete pavement to current asphalt
pavement.
- Install portable barrier wall along Eastbound traffic
- Place Westbound traffic onto new (2007) concrete pavement
- No left turns will be permitted within Woodville at
this time
- Construct middle 12' of concrete pavement
- Approximately 4 weeks to complete
Please note:
- Barrier wall required due to drop off incurred close
to Eastbound traffic
- No barrier wall required along Westbound at this time
due to offset of drop off. Barrels satisfy drop off requirements
- No left turns permitted due to construct ability
issues and safety of motorists.
Stage 2
- Traffic, both Eastbound and Westbound on North
side of US 20 utilizing concrete pavement.
- Both right and left turns permitted
- Northern businesses maintained through temporary
stone drives
- Residents between George and Lime will be maintained
through use of temporary access drives.
All others maintained through temporary
stone drives as required.
- SR 105 is closed for entire duration of Stage
2 (as per original plan)
- Bank access of SR 105 by temporary stone drive
- Approximately 3 months to complete
- Intent is to complete Stage 2 MOT work by end
of August as per request by school
Benefits:
- Roadway work within Woodville completed 2008.
If alternate MOT not approved, Woodville work completed October 2009
- Impact to School is minimal due to pavement
work completed during summer months and completed before Fall session begins
- Local businesses will benefit from the new 5 lane roadway within Woodville in 2008
- If alternate plan not approved, current traffic
configuration will last until Spring 2009, as work will continue West to complete
North side of US 20 before proceeding to Southern US 20 work in 2009
- Snow removal 2008 will become easier as drums
currently in place will be removed when work in Woodville is completed
